Why this matters more than it seems

In B2B production, the final stage often fails on “details”: labels, sets, packing, documentation, mixed lots. Defining it upfront avoids delays and returns.

What to define (minimum viable)

1) Packaging

  • Type (pouch, box, case, protective wrap)
  • Branded (if applicable) or neutral packaging
  • Protection requirements (stones, delicate surfaces)

2) Labelling

  • SKU, size, material, colour, lot
  • Barcode / QR (if applicable)
  • Language / destination market requirements (if applicable)

3) Sets and composition

  • What each unit includes (piece + leaflet + certificate + etc.)
  • How units are grouped (packs, displays)

4) Final control before packing

  • Final aesthetic check (per agreed standard)
  • Functional check (clasps, movement)
  • Matching checks for sets (if applicable)

Logistics (high level)

  • Delivery address and receiving conditions
  • Receiving windows
  • Documentation requirements (if applicable)
  • Priorities: cost vs speed vs security
